VAR serves as the ideal ITAD partner for companies concerned with meeting their ESG goals. First, we provide carbon impact reports detailing our success in product reuse. Next, we address Environmental, Social and Governance concerns through our certifications and management processes – see each for details.

Certifications

In the ITAD and e-Waste industry, there are two major certifying organizations, the largest is Sustainable Electronics Recycling International see SERI-R2. With almost one thousand companies holding R2 Certification across the globe, most hold the 2013 Certification. The latest (and more stringent) Certification is R2v3. VAR is proud to be among the first fifty (50) companies in the world to receive this latest R2v3 Certification.  VAR is also ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 Certified.

Executive Team

The executive management team at Veterans Alliance Resourcing, Inc. has served in the computer and electronics services industry since 1981. During this period, they processed, refurbished, sold and supplied parts from used computers and electronic assets for some of the largest manufacturers, retailers, third-party service providers, rental/lease and ITAD companies. Michael Schuler

President & CEO

VAR founder, Mr. Schuler brings thirty (30) years of executive management experience in sales, purchasing and product remarketing to VAR. Attending two years of advanced electronics calibration/metrology schools during his service in the US Marine Corps, Mr. Schuler leveraged that experience into key product remarketing roles for two of the largest rental/lease companies. Mr. Schuler transitioned into increasing roles as a senior executive for various companies, ultimately serving as President of Micro Product Distributors. During his career, Mr. Schuler has secured over $250MM in major contract engagements. ​Mr. Schuler has been active in the industry as a public speaker, subject-matter expert and elected representative for multiple industry associations including serving as Chairman of the Executive Council for CompTIA’s IT Services and Support Community. Mr. Schuler’s service was recognized with CompTIA’s Industry Award and was subsequently selected as a CompTIA Ambassador. Also active in his community, Mr. Schuler received US Jaycees recognition for his leadership in the Chicago area with the M. Keith Upton Memorial Award and Clint Dunagan Memorial Award.

Russell Joly

Executive Vice President & COO

Mr. Joly has over thirty (30) years of executive management experience in the computer and electronics retail and aftermarket services industry. A graduate of Nova University Southeast with a BS in Business Administration, with additional graduate certifications that include the Chicago School of Business, Financial Development, TCU’s Managing Managers and Motorola’s Six Sigma Executive Training, Mr. Joly served as the head executive of RadioShack’s Global Service operations managing over four thousand technicians, hundreds of supply chain personnel and seven manufacturing facilities across the globe. Mr. Joly later joined Circuit City, where he reorganized Firedog into an extremely efficient field service operation that serviced over two million (2MM) service events a year. Mr. Joly was subsequently tapped to serve as President & CEO of ReverTech Solutions, a computer service parts and reverse logistics company with operations based in Texas, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
